Whether you’re into running or watching runners run, you’ll want to race on over to the 2014 Palm Beaches Marathon & Run Fest. It begins Friday, December 5 and continues through Sunday, December 7 at Waterfront Commons Park in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. There is no shortage of events, which include a marathon, half marathon, four-person marathon relay, and 10K and 5K runs. Those participating in the marathon are required to complete the race within seven hours. For those taking on the half marathon, a time of 3 hours and 30 minutes is required to finish. Anyone not keeping up this pace will be asked to move off the course to the adjacent sidewalk. There’s also a separate wheelchair division and walkers are welcome to join in the half marathon. Finisher’s medals will be given out to those who run the marathon and half marathon and, well, finish. Once they do, they’ll be given a cool medal that actually spins. The final runners in the four-person marathon relays will also receive their medal once they cross the finish line while the other members of the teams will get their reward afterwards during the post-race festival. What’s more, there will be award medals for the first, second and third place winners in all categories. During Friday and Saturday, stop by the Publix Health & Fitness Expo, which features sports, fitness and health products.
